The World Cup ends and four days later England are onto their next challenge. They take on Australia, in a different format. Their encounter was missed in the World Cup, and here they are now. Australia are in a phase of transition at the moment. Aaron Finch has retired, and David Warner will be having a new opening partner after spending years, opening the batting with Aaron Finch. There is a new captain too with Pat Cummins taking the ODI captaincy along with his Test captaincy.
Played- 154 | Australia – 84 | England – 62 | No Result- 3 | Tie- 2
Date: November 17th 2022
Time: 8:50 AM IST
Venue: Adelaide Oval
The Adelaide Oval is does not have much rain threat around and a full game is expected.
The Adelaide track is pretty flat with little for the bowlers. With short square boundaries and a fast outfield lot of runs are expected while batting second will be a better choice.
David Warner, Travis Head, Steve Smith, Mitchell Marsh, Alex Carey, Marcus Stoinis, Cameron Green, Pat Cummins, Adam Zampa, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood
Jason Roy, Phil Salt, Dawid Malan, James Vince, Jos Buttler, Sam Billings, Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Chris Woakes, David Willey, Adil Rashid
After sitting out for most of the World Cup, Steve Smith will be itching to get out in the middle. He is still a valuable asset in the ODI format, producing valuable knocks for Australia at regular intervals even now. With some time out in the middle, Steve Smith will hope to be a dangerous force again in the upcoming series.
Jason Roy is back in the ODI squad. After a terrible run, Roy was unfortunate to be dropped for the World Cup and has a point to prove. ODIs are his best format but the upcoming series is likely to be a deciding factor for him. His performances could well make or break his career as he looks to extend his time as an international cricketer.

Australia are a strong side at home while England are the World Champions in both white-ball formats. While England are depleted a touch, they still have most of their best white-ball players, and that will help them big time in the upcoming game.
