Chaos, confusion, and Kyle Mayers’s six is all the first T20 was about. Dropped catches from West Indies cost them a game they could have closed out, while Australia made some baffling selections. They dropped Steve Smith and opened with Cameron Green who is not even a part of the World Cup squad. Australia are the defending champions, but still have some line-up questions to sort as their moves look a little confusing.

Date: 7th October 2022

Venue: Carrara Oval
Rain and overcast skies are predicted during the AUS vs WI fixture. There is a strong chance of a truncated or washed out game.
The Carrara Track is likely to be a little slow and low scoring. There will be some movement up front as well and bowling first will be a better option.
David Warner, Aaron Finch, Mitchell Marsh, Steve Smith, Tim David, Cameron Green, Matthew Wade, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Adam Zampa
Evin Lewis, Kyle Mayers, Nicholas Pooran, Brandon King, Raymon Reifer, Rovman Powell, Jason Holder, Odean Smith, Akeal Hossein, Obed McCoy, Alzarri Joseph,
Glenn Maxwell has been going through a string of low scores and that could start looking like a concern soon. He is not batting with his usual flow and aggression, and really needs an innings to break free. With a fair few games left before the World Cup, Australia will be banking badly on their big show to score big and find form.
Odean Smith’s style of fast bowling and aggressive batting seems to work well in Australia. His pace will be a strong weapon in the upcoming games while he is impressing with some huge sixes while batting.

West Indies ran Australia pretty close, and are a team full of depth and young talent. While Australia look stronger on paper, West Indies could come up with a surprise given the caliber of their young talents.
