BAN vs AFG is the third T20i and Bangladesh’s first of the contest. Afghanistan are off to a very strong start as they send an alarming statement for sides in the contest. They hammered Sri Lanka with both bat and ball, and were absolutely clinical. With the bat, their openers are at their aggressive best, and they do not want to be taken lightly this time around.
Bangladesh are in with a challenge. They have a rampaging Afghanistan ahead of them and they have their own form to worry about. Bangladesh’s T20i record off late has not been the greatest. While Tamim Iqbal hasn’t been a part of the T20 side for a while, his absence is going to continue leaving a hole as they struggle for consistency with the bat. This time though there will be some familiarity. Shakib Al Hasan is back for another stint as captain, and with more maturity it will be interesting to see how he handles the reins this time.

The evening is nice warm and clear for the BAN vs AFG fixture.
While dew is not much of a factor yet, the small boundaries and dry surface will help batters. Spin will play a role but with small boundaries batting second remains a better option.
Mohammad Naim, Anamul Haque, Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah, Mushfiqur Rahim, Sabbir Rahman, Afif Hossain, Mehidy Hasan Miraj, Mahadi Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed
Hazratullah Zazai, Hashmatullah Shahidi, Ibrahim Zadran, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Mohammad Nabi, Samiullah Shinwari, Rashid Khan, Najibullah Zadran, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Naveen-ul-Haq Murid, Fazalhaq Farooqi
Rahmanullah Gurbaz was running rampant in the first T20i, He made easy work of a small target and looks a dangerous batter in this editions Asia Cup. He is having a really good year and if he continues to bat the same way Afghanistan will have a very dangerous batting line-up to back a pretty solid bowling attack.
While Mustafizur Rahman is key for Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed will have to play a role in supporting him. He is a pretty good bowler who can touch some high speeds an Bangladesh will hope he builds on the pressure created by Mustafizur Rahman, allowing the spinners some cushion when they come in to bowl later in the innings.

Afghanistan has set the tournament alight on the opening day and look very good. Bangladesh though are coming off a up and down record in recent times. With a new captain and some bad form behind them, Bangladesh will have some work ahead if they are to beat Afghanistan.
