Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka Match Prediction -Who Will Win Today’s Match?
Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka: Amid the IPL gap there has been a lot of changes for Sri Lanka. They have a new prime minister, and a new coach and are making a new start on and off the field. With Chris Silverwood coming in, Sri Lanka also have a string of new names in the squad, who will be eager to make some noise.
For Bangladesh, the line-up seems normal with Shakib Al Hasan coming back. Bangladesh though will be keen to put their last test outing behind them. They lost the two test series in South Africa and were taken apart by spin on the final innings in both games, dismissed for 53 and 80 respectively.
Match: Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka
Date: 15th May 2022
Time: 9:30 AM IST
Venue: Chattogram
The weather is a little unstable during the Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka test with the odd thunderstorm predicted over the five days.
The Chattogram surface has a decent batting average and may not be as helpful for spin as are other grounds in Bangladesh. With runs likely to come easy early on batting first will be better.
Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mominul Haque (capt), Mushfiqur Rahim, Litton Das (wk), Shakib Al Hasan, Nayeem Hasan/Mosaddek Hossain, Taijul Islam, Shoriful Islam, Ebadot Hossain
Dimuth Karunaratne (capt), Oshada Fernando, Kusal Mendis, Angelo Mathews, Dhananjaya de Silva, Dinesh Chandimal/Ramesh Mendis, Niroshan Dickwella (wk), Lasith Embuldeniya, Kasun Rajitha/Asitha Fernando, Praveen Jayawickrama, Vishwa Fernando
The Bangladesh line-up will have some modifications with Taskin Ahmed and Mehidy Hasan out. Shakib Al Hasan could be batting as low as number seven given the sides batting composition.
The Sri Lankan team will have to make changes again with new players in the side, and Dinesh Chandimal could be one of the players who are replaced for the upcoming Test.
Shakib Al Hasan
Shakib Al Hasan has only played three out of eleven tests after coming back from his ban. He almost missed the first test here with Covid but is back and ready to take part. With Shakib missing a lot of games in between though, it seems like he could be walking in to a different role. He is likely to bat at seven and bowl more with Mehidy out and the batting line-up rather stable.

Angelo Mathews
Angelo Mathews has been around for a long time and was once seen as a potential great. Injuries prevented him from achieving more but with him still around and with more responsibility on him as a leader after the retirement of Suranga Lakmal, Angelo Mathews is going to be a key player as Sri Lanka look to pick up some crucial WTC points.
Both teams are pretty good in the subcontinent and are rather well balanced with respect to each other. The arrival of Shakib Al Hasan and presence of experience along with home advantage though may give Bangladesh a slight edge in the game.
Match Prediction: Bangladesh will win the match.
