Bangladesh vs Srilanka Third One Day International Match Prediction Today

Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka 3rd ODI Match Prediction: With the series sealed, the upcoming match may seem like one for Bangladesh to relax through. However, the game may not be as straightforward for Bangladesh. The home team had suffered a ten-game losing streak before this series and finally got back to winnings. With a busy calendar ahead, Bangladesh may hope to maintain its momentum to be snatched away with ease. The return of the seniors has helped Bangladesh greatly, in contrast to Sri Lanka who has fought with a new squad.

Mushfiqur Rahim, in particular, has been consistent and provided match-winning knocks in both games. As predicted in the previous match prediction, Mushfiqur Rahim was brilliant. Along with Rahim, Mehidy Hasan has also done an excellent job. He bowled economically and did well to apply pressure on the Sri Lankans in a middling run chase. Despite not being at his vintage best, Mustafizur Rahman has done a decent job nailing his cutters and is slowly getting back to his previous best.

With the ODI Super League as an essential factor for World Cup qualification, Bangladesh can not afford to take the upcoming game lightly. With tough teams to face, each game is essential, and Bangladesh will hope to complete their first-ever whitewash over Sri Lanka. Coming to Sri Lanka, the side struggled in the second game just as they did initially. They gave away runs after creating early pressure and struggled to chase a good score.

Scores of 250 odd usually are gettable, but the side has struggled in both games. The top and middle-order struggled, and Wanindu Hasaranga has been their only respite in the series. Hasaranga is the leading run-scorer in the series, but his runs have come at number eight, and he is often out in the middle too late. Coming in at number eight, Hasaranga doesn’t have enough time to impact the result.

The selection policy has already come under question with the choice to drop the seniors. The senior batsmen within the squad as well have been found wanting in the series. Kusal Perera, Danushka Gunathilaka, and Kusal Mendis have struggled for runs and have failed to carry a young batting unit. The bowling has been good, with wickets falling early in the innings.

Dushmantha Chameera and Lakshman Sandakan have been among the wickets, while Hasaranga has made some excellent contributions. The difference has been in the experience and top order of both sides. While Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Mahmudullah have contributed, Sri Lanka’s seniors have not done enough.

In the Spotlight:

Mehidy Hasan:

Mushfiqur Rahim was pointed out in the previous match prediction and matched the expectations with a beautiful century. Along with Rahim, Mehidy Hasan has done an excellent job of getting noticed. He is currently second among ODI bowlers and has made a name for himself with his economical bowling. The fact that he keeps things simple with his finger spin when wrist spin is preferred puts more attention on the talent shown by the spinner.

Dushmantha Chameera:

Dushmatha Chameera has done an excellent job this season, picking up early wickets in both games. He has helped Sri Lanka early on, but the Sri Lankans have failed to capitalize on the pressure built by him. Dushmantha Chameera becomes a player to look out for in this match prediction with decent performances so far.

Predicted XIs:

Bangladesh: 1 Tamim Iqbal (capt), 2 Liton Das/Mohammad Naim, 3 Shakib Al Hasan, 4 Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), 5 Mosaddek Hossain, 6 Mahmudullah, 7 Afif Hossain, 8 Mehidy Hasan Miraz, 9 Taskin Ahmed, 10 Shoriful Islam, 11 Mustafizur Rahman

Sri Lanka: 1 Danushka Gunathilaka, 2 Kusal Perera (capt), 3 Pathum Nissanka, 4 Kusal Mendis, 5 Dhananjaya de Silva, 6 Niroshan Dickwella (wk), 7 Dasun Shanaka, 8 Wanindu Hasaranga, 9 Isuru Udana, 10 Lakshan Sandakan, 11 Dushmantha Chameera

Pitch Conditions:

With the match being played on the same ground, the predictions can be similar to the previous match prediction. The pitch is likely to play low and slow, while the side batting first may gain a slight advantage. The weather is expected to be clear, unlike in the second ODI, where there was a bit of rainfall.
