Delhi Capitals showed their strength with a convincing six-wicket win against Gujarat at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. Delhi’s excellent play boosted their chances in the tournament, while Shubman Gill‘s team faced disappointment and needed to bounce back after their Net Run Rate took a hit. Sumit Kumar played a key role in Delhi’s victory, helping them chase down the 90-run target in just 8.5 overs and dealing a big blow to Gujarat.
In the match, Delhi got off to a strong start with Jake Fraser-McGurk’s aggressive batting, supported by Abishek Porel and Shai Hope. Rishabh Pant and Sumit Kumar then finished the job quickly to secure the win. Meanwhile, Delhi’s bowlers dominated, with Mukesh Kumar taking three wickets, Ishant Sharma and Tristan Stubbs taking two each, and Axar Patel and Khaleel Ahmed taking one each.
On the other hand, Gujarat struggled, posting their lowest total of the season. Rashid Khan’s 31 runs were the highlight of their batting struggles. Despite some efforts in bowling, Gujarat couldn’t avoid a heavy defeat against Delhi’s strong performance.

Sandeep Warrier continued to trouble Delhi, sending Prithvi Shaw and Abishek Porel back to the pavilion in quick succession. Even Rashid Khan joined the action, claiming the wicket of Shai Hope. Despite the setbacks, Rishabh Pant’s six off Rashid Khan’s delivery kept Delhi’s hopes alive. Eventually, Delhi Capitals successfully chased down the 90-run target in just 8.5 overs, securing a six-wicket victory over Gujarat.
