The ICC Champions Trophy is back after eight years, and after much deliberation, the competition will begin on February 19th in Pakistan and UAE (only for India matches). India, the past edition's finalist, has officially unveiled their lineup after having supporters wait a little longer than expected, and it is a team with a solid mix of youth and experience.

The Indian Cricket Team announced their tournament team yesterday, and some fascinating and alarming details emerged, sparking much debate and discussion among Indian cricket fans. Taking away the positive aspects of the team, we examine the three players to see who may make an impact in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.

1. Mohammed Shami

Mohammed Shami has been out of the Indian team for quite some time owing to his heal injury. He played his final international match in 2023. On the other hand, Shami has recovered from his injury and has been included in the T20 side that will face England. As a result, Shami may play a critical role in ensuring India's triumph in the Champions Trophy.

With the likes of Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami's comeback will be the perfect icing on the cake for the Indian team's speedster arsenal. His economical and wicket-taking abilities will be highly beneficial for the team's pursuit of their 2025 Champions Trophy path. In his humongous 101 ODI matches stint, he has scalped 195 wickets, averaging at 23.68 and a commendable economy of 5.56, making him a promising bowler to check out for, who can be a probable and potential highest wicket-taker of the tournament.
