The Lucknow Super Giants, one of the league's two newest arsenals, have made a promising start to the campaign. They reached the top four in their first two seasons, led by KL Rahul and Gautam Gambhir. However, IPL 2024 did not go as anticipated for LSG. A few changes in leadership roles and the players' lack of form resulted in their lowest finish in tournament history.
The LSG management will aim to construct a formidable squad for the IPL 2025 big auction. Also, with the recent news of the team's first and ongoing captain, KL Rahul, probably leaving the squad, citing a rift between the owners and management, some significant changes would come up. So, here are three players that LSG may keep ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction.
Nicholas Pooran
Nicholas Pooran, the West Indian keeper-batter, has been relatively steady for the LSG over the last three years. Pooran has established himself as a vital member of the batting lineup by delivering game-changing performances. Furthermore, Pooran is one of the finest batters in this style. So, a skill like that at his disposal would almost certainly keep him.
The swashbuckling hitter exemplifies consistency and is a jack of all crafts regarding batting and keeping. Unsurprisingly, he may be a candidate to head the Super Giants club if the leadership changes. In 14 matches of the 2024 edition, he made 499 runs at a spectacular average of 62.37.
Ravi Bishnoi
Ravi Bishnoi, a young Indian spinner, has emerged as one of the LSG's leading bowlers. Bishnoi has also steadily matured into one of the country's greatest format spinners. Bishnoi will be a core member of the LSG squad that is currently being formed. He will most likely be retained by management and appointed as one of the bowling unit's leaders.
He is also known for his fielding abilities. As the critical spinner for the India T20I arsenal, it is evident that LSG would want to keep him for longer upcoming IPL editions. In 2024, he has taken ten wickets in 14 matches, with an economy rate of 8.77.

Mayank Yadav
Mayank Yadav is anticipated to be LSG's main target for retention among uncapped players. Their most promising young player, 22-year-old Delhi quick Mayank Yadav, left such an impression with seven wickets in four innings that there were even talks of his joining the Indian team for the T20 2024 World Cup.
Despite a string of injuries that eventually popped the bubble, the Super Giants will not want to lose a potential like that at any cost. He resulted from their reconnaissance, a breakthrough star they might build around. In his brief 2024 spell of four matches, he took seven wickets at an impressive economy rate of more than seven runs per over.
