SRH VS DC: Two defeats in three IPL 2025 matches for Sunrisers Hyderabad. SRH hardly managed to create a strong barricade around Capitals; therefore, Delhi Capitals won the match with 7 wickets in hand and 24 balls to spare. Sunrisers Hyderabad, batting first, put only a total of 163 runs on the board before losing all of their ten wickets in 18.4 overs. In this 163-run, Aniket alone has scored 74 runs against 41 balls. Against a formidable Mitchell Starc, who took 5 wickets in this match, and Kuldeep Yadav, who took 3, Aniket was like playing for fun. Cricket fans present at the ACA VDCA International Cricket Stadium-Visakhapatnam stadium witnessed 6 huge sixes come out of Verma's bat, along with five 4s. Apart from Aniket, only Heinrich Klaasen (19 balls, 32 runs) added a significant amount of runs to the scoreboard.

Who is Aniket Verma?

Aniket Verma was an uncapped player for the Sunrisers Hyderabad who is now under the spotlight for his brilliant 74-run innings. Verma, hailing from Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, played competitive matches in Madhya Pradesh. The 23-year-old batter emerged as the top scorer in the Madhya Pradesh Premier League, where he scored 273 runs in 6 matches for Bhopal Leopards, including a lightning-fast 41-ball-123 innings.

In a video shared by the Sunrisers on their Hyderabad, he was asked about his hobby; in reply, Verma said, 'Mujhe six marna pasad hai' (I love to hit over boundaries). That's what he did against the Delhi Capitals—hitting sixes.
