BAN vs AFG, Asia Cup’22: Bangladesh take on Afghanistan in the third match of Asia Cup 2022 on Tuesday, August 30. The Afghans have made a victorious start to the tournament beating Sri Lanka by 8 wickets in the first round of the campaign. In the meantime, this is the first round of the Tigers who are set in group B alongside Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. India, Pakistan and Hong Kong make up group B.

 A total of 13 matches will take place during the tournament. India are the reigning champs of the tournament, which brought home the championship back in 2018 by beating Bangladesh in the final. India has also won the most 7 Asia Cup titles up to this point. Sri Lanka comes next with 5 titles while Pakistan has brought home 2 championships. Bangladesh have made the last two finals but are yet to lay their hands on the prize. This year, they have gathered a side that might take care of business.

During the group stage, each team will play one match against the teams in their group. The top 2 teams from the two groups will fit the bill for the super four round. During the super 4 round, each team will play one match against the other. The top two teams will qualify for the final which will be played in Dubai on September 11.

Afghanistan beat Sri Lanka by 8 wickets to get their Asia Cup crusade off to a flyer. They are topping Group A right now. The Afghans bowled out Sri Lanka for only 105 and chased down the score within 11 overs to win the match in an empathetic style. They have given a proclamation right off the bat in the tournament.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, will play their first game of the campaign. They will be led by Shakib Al Hasan in the AsiaCup and furthermore in the T20 World Cup. He has not been in good form off late and has been encircled by unwanted controversy. However, the veteran player has all the attention ahead on this vital tournament. The Tigers are the finalists from the last two editions of the tournament. Both times they have lost to India, who are the reigning champs.
