India end up with a lead of 80 runs, after 314/10. Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer’s 159-run partnership that came in just 182 balls helped India recover from the loss of early wickets on Day 2. They lost Shubman Gill, KL Rahul and Cheteshwar Pujar in the first session and then Virat Kohli early in the second. However, Iyer and Pant began with a counter-attack and then largely maintained the run rate to take India past Bangladesh’s total.

Pant finally fell on 93 off 104 balls, making it the sixth time in his career that he has fallen in the 90s. Iyer also missed out on his century, falling for 87 off 105 balls. Siraj had hit a four off the previous ball, then he leaps down the track to give it an almighty thwack. Misses it completely and is stumped and Siraj screams in frustration, he is holding that bat to his face like he just missed out on a triple century.

Rishabh Pant (93) and Iyer (87) shared 159 runs for the 5th wicket

India added 295 runs on the day from 78.3 overs after resuming at 19 for no loss. After the tourists lost three wickets in the opening session, Taskin Ahmed added to India’s woes. Claiming the prized scalp of Virat Kohli (24) soon after lunch. India had bowled Bangladesh out for 227 in their first innings on Thursday.
