The 37th match of IPL 2025 was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings at Mullapur ground. In this match, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Punjab Kings by 7 wickets and registered their fifth win this season. Punjab Kings had set a target of 158 runs in front of RCB team. In response, RCB achieved the target in 18.5 overs for the loss of three wickets. In which Virat Kohli played an unbeaten innings of 73 runs.

Talking about this match, RCB captain Rajat Patidar won the toss and decided to bowl first. Punjab Kings team had a great start and the team's openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh made a quick start of 42 runs in 26 balls. Priyansh Arya played an innings of 22 runs in 15 balls and was dismissed by Krunal Pandya. After this, Prabhsimran Singh also became the victim of Kunal Pandya after scoring 33 runs in 17 balls.

Captain Shreyas Iyer also got out on the ball of Romario Shepherd after scoring 6 runs in 10 balls in this match. After that Josh Josh English scored 29 runs in 17 balls and was bowled by Suyash Sharma. In the end, Shashank Singh and Marco Jansen did score runs but not at a fast pace. Krunal Pandya and Suyash Sharma took the maximum two wickets each for RCB.

Change master Virat Kohli showed his flair in run chase

Phil Salt got out after scoring one run for RCB, who came out to chase the target of 158 runs given by Punjab Kings. After this Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal took over the innings. There was a partnership of 103 runs between these two. Then Padikkal got out after scoring 61 runs in 35 balls with five fours and four sixes. But Kohli kept the front and returned only after winning till the end. Kohli played an unbeaten innings of 73 runs in 54 balls with 7 fours and a six.

While Jitesh Sharma returned unbeaten after scoring 11 runs with him. With this, RCB achieved the chase of 158 runs in the 19th over itself and registered their fifth win of this season. At the same time, Punjab got its third defeat in the eighth match. Arshdeep Singh, Harpreet Brar and Yuzvendra Chahal got one success each in this match for the Punjab Kings team.
