The BBL is heading to its final stages as the Australian Summer winds down. With the Australian Test Summer ending, franchises now have the boost of getting some of the Test players to join them. However, with the South African and UAE T20 leagues starting, there are some players going out too. Let us now go over the players who are coming in and leaving for each franchise.

Adelaide Strikers

Rashid Khan is a big star leaving the Strikers

The Adelaide Strikers got off to a good start, struggled and now are so and so with their fortunes. In a crucial juncture, they will be losing two key players. Chris Lynn, who recently lit up the tournament with some vintage big-hits is heading to South Africa after a clash with Brisbane Heat. His absence though is not as bad with Travis Head and Alex Carey coming in to the side.

Their biggest loss though is Rashid Khan. His aggression and economical spells will be missed by the Strikers as they lose a player who has been very crucial to them over the years.

Brisbane Heat

Captain Usman Khawaja returns

Brisbane Heat will be very happy with the player changes. They will lose Colin Munro and Sam Billings, who were among the few big names in the side. Both players though did not find consistency but were pretty helpful with their experience as Brisbane struggled to move around in the tournament.

The ones coming in though will be very pleasing. After another wonderful summer, Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne are here to fight their way through in T20 cricket. Usman Khawaja will be taking the captaincy spot as well, and has been a wonderful player for Brisbane over the years. Labuschagne too is in some good form and could slot in at four as Brisbane look for a late season turn around.

Hobart Hurricanes

Due to injury, Hobart has already lost some players

The Hurricanes do not have too many personal changes. Shadab Khan and Jimmy Neesham were part of the side but left early. Shadab Khan left due to injury concerns and looked good with the ball during his time at the tournament. Neesham too left with poor form and will now be playing in South Africa.

Melbourne Renegades

The Renegades will have to revamp their spin department

The Melbourne Renegades are at a huge loss with their personnel change. Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Akeal Hossein were crucial with the ball as the spin duo contributed to twenty wickets in the ongoing tournament. Both now head to the UAE while Marcus Harris comes in to the side.

Melbourne Stars

Barring a new-ball bowler in Trent Boult, Stars are pretty much the same

The Melbourne Stars are not having a good time in the ongoing season. Trent Boult, their spearhead this season as well was not all that consistent. He still did give them some good spells up top, but will now be leaving to South Africa.

Perth Scorchers

A top-order revamp is coming up for the Scorchers

The Perth top-order will have some shuffling to do. Faf Du Plessis and Adam Lyth made a nice pair at the top, scoring consistently for the side and getting them off to strong starts. Faf Du Plessis in particular was perfect for them. He was embraced by the Perth fans nicely but now will have to leave as he has a captaincy gig in the South African T20 league.

The players coming in though are promising. The wild thing, Lance Morris is back and has been moving up the ladder of fast bowlers in Australia. Ashton Agar, a stalwart for the Scorchers is back too. Agar did not have the greatest of domestic seasons but his ability to hold his own with both bat and ball will give the Scorchers some confidence.

Sydney Sixers

Steve Smith and Nathan Lyon Return

They Sydney Sixers are losing some decent names. James Vince, a star for them over the years will be heading to UAE along with Naveen Ul Haq. Chris Jordan, another star who was really good with his fielding is heading to the UAE too leaving Sydney three players short. The players coming in though will provide comfort.

Steve Smith, who is in some decent form, although in Tests is back. His T20 numbers are not too great in recent times but his return still offers them considerable comfort considering they are losing some experienced players. Nathan Lyon is the other star coming back. He isnt the most famous T20 bowler going around, but his experience will help as Sydney Sixers have been dependent on some young spinners up until now.

Sydney Thunder

David Warner gets back to the BBL after a nine year gap

Sydney Thunder too will lose some massive performers. Alex Hales helped revive Sydney’s fortune but now heads to UAE. The other performer is Rilee Roussow. His numbers are not the greatest this season, but he is a considerable talent which could be missed. However, in return, Sydney Thunder will be getting David Warner, who is coming back to the BBL after nine years. His return is one of the biggest moments in the competition and Sydney will hope he comes back at his best.
