Bangladesh legendary all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has recently been suspended from bowling by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). The situation has become tougher for the left-arm spinner as this ban will be followed in every ICC-approved national federation, including both domestic and international cricket.
Due to an illegal bowling action, the 37-year-old former Bangladesh captain, who is now actively present in the ODI format, has been banned from bowling by the ECB.
Last September, Shakib was reported as a suspect in bowling action during an English county cricket match. Earlier this month, Loughborough University, an ICC-accredited testing centre in the UK, had an independent assessment of Shakib’s bowling action, and the left-arm spinner failed in that test.
After the ECB officially announced Shakib’s suspension from the bowling, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has clarified the present situation. The BCB has confirmed that the suspension will be followed in every ICC-approved national federation.
In a press release, the BCB stated, "The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has been informed that national team allrounder Shakib Al Hasan has been suspended from bowling in competitions under the jurisdiction of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). As a result, Shakib is also suspended from bowling in domestic cricket competitions outside Bangladesh and in international cricket.”

However, the BCB has also confirmed that Shakib will soon apply for reassessment to clear his bowling action, which will result in his suspension removal.
BCB added, "Should the results of this [reassessment] analysis clear his action, Shakib will be permitted to bowl in international cricket and in domestic cricket competitions under the jurisdiction of all national cricket federations."
While Shakib can’t bowl at present before clearing his bowling action, he can play any match as a batter.
Shakib last played an international cricket match during the Kanpur Test against India on October 1. Although the all-rounder wants to return to international cricket, as he is available for the ODI format and also wants to play his last Test at home, he has failed to be present due to the country's present political situation. The BCB also wants him in the team only if the senior all-rounder gets proper preparation.
