The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Indian squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against Australia. Suryakumar Yadav has been appointed as the captain, with Ruturaj Gaikwad serving as his deputy for the first three games of the series.

Notably, Sanju Samson has been omitted from the squad, while Shreyas Iyer is set to join the team for the concluding T20Is, taking over the vice-captaincy role from Ruturaj Gaikwad for the last two matches. The opening duties will be shouldered by Ishan Kishan, who also serves as the wicketkeeper, and Yashasvi Jaiswal.

In the middle order, Tilak Varma and Rinku Singh will play crucial roles alongside Jitesh Sharma, who is the designated second wicketkeeper. The squad includes three all-rounders: Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, and Shivam Dube, with Axar making a comeback after missing out on the World Cup squad due to injury.
