The Indian cricket board is planning to randomly knock on the doors of the person who conquered the world events after repeatedly failing at ICC events. Following the failure of the T20 World Cup in Australia, the BCCI is likely to request that MS Dhoni play a significant role in the Indian T20 Cricket team.
According to a report in The Telegraph, the BCCI believes that HEAD COACH Rahul Dravid cannot handle the workload of managing three formats. As a result, the BCCI is considering splitting the coaching responsibilities. The board wants Dhoni to play in the T20 format and use his skills to improve the Indian cricket team’s standard.
The report says that the issue will be talked about at the APEX COUNCIL Meeting later this month.
MS Dhoni Director of T20 Cricket?
Dhoni worked with the group during T20 World Cup 2021 in the UAE yet that was in a break limit. The team was eliminated in the first round despite the involvement, which lasted roughly a week. The BCCI, on the other hand, believes that the Indian T20 setup would benefit greatly from a larger role.
Dhoni is said to be planning to retire from the sport following the IPL next year, according to the report. The former Indian captain will be involved because the BCCI wants to make the most of his expertise and experience after that.
The Double World Cup winner might be asked to lead the Indian T20 team and work with a specific group of players.
