Following the recent allegations leveled against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) franchise, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) issued a strong statement, categorically refuting any misdoing. The board has described such accusations as unsubstantiated and baseless and confirmed there is no basis for the allegations made against the IPL franchise.
The row arises from continued political unrest in the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA), which is dissolved and in the hands of an ad-hoc committee at present. With RCA elections in the offing, the scenario has turned very volatile. One senior BCCI official, talking off the record, indicated that the timing and character of these charges seem politically motivated.
"RCA is dissolved at present.". An ad-hoc committee has been constituted and with the elections near at hand, plenty of drama is going on. Everybody needs attention," the official said, according to journalist Pratyush Raj.
BCCI also laid stress on the fact that the board has an iron-clad anti-corruption policy and employs a special 24x7 unit to make sure the game is clean. "The BCCI has a 24x7 anti-corruption unit in place to keep the bad elements out of the game. These rumors are unfounded," added the official. Rajasthan Royals have not issued a public statement regarding the issue, but insiders at the franchise confirm complete cooperation with the BCCI and faith in resolution. The team remains dedicated to its IPL 2025 campaign without disruption or distraction.

As the RCA is facing its internal battle, the BCCI is asking stakeholders and supporters to desist from lending credibility to unsubstantiated reports. The board once again expressed its commitment to the upholding of the integrity of the IPL and to the ensuring that franchises are not targeted unjustly on the back of off-field political processes.
