Ben Stokes proved too good for Rohit Sharma with his first ball of the ongoing series between India and England. After many speculations following his injury, Ben Stokes bowled for the first time since the Ashes 2023 and got rid of Rohit Sharma brilliantly.
Stokes dismissed Rohit Sharma the India captain who was looking dangerous with 103 runs, with a slower delivery to give a massive breakthrough to England. With this, the England captain put an end to all the speculations over his bowling. A lot has been said about his bowling after a long gap following his knee injury. Stokes who was seen bowling in the nets, did not bowl a single delivery until the fifth Test match in Dharamsala between India and England.
“I have managed to get my first bowl at 100 percent. I’m not going to lie. I feel really great. As a person I like to jump the gun a little bit but things are feeling really good. I have a whole body to get used to bowling again. It’s not a yes – but it’s not a no either,” Stokes had told Sky Sports earlier.

Indians were looking dangerous, courtesy of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. The duo scored their centuries before Stokes decided to return to bowling. A relatively slower delivery from Ben Stokes did the trick and gave England the breakthrough. Shubman Gill (110) followed his captain soon and India were suddenly in trouble in the space of just four runs.
Currently, Devdutt Padikkal (30*) and Sarfaraz Khan (7*) are in the middle with India’s score 313 for the loss of three wickets.
