Bumrah leads India's fightback after batting collapse

After being opted to bat which didn't go their way as Team India were bundled out for 150 as Hazlewood led the Aussies bowling attack and picked up four-fer. In reply, Indian bowlers bounced back in style and restricted the hosts to 67/7 on Day 1. Australia's batters were unable to play Bumrah's fiery spell as he ran through their top order and minimized them to 19-3. Skipper Jasprit Bumrah dismissed both the openers Nathan McSweeney LBW and Usman Khawaja caught behind at the slips. He dismissed Steve Smith for a golden duck by LBW. Bumrah became only the second bowler to dismiss Steve Smith for a golden duck, following Dale Steyn, who achieved the feat in Port Elizabeth in 2014. Bumrah's fourth wicket was the Australia Skipper Pat Cummins who just nipped back to Rishabh Pant. Mohammed Siraj picked up two wickets first it was Marnus Labuschagne by LBW whose catch was dropped earlier off Bumrah by Virat Kohli in slips.

Indian batters fall prey to the Australian Seamers

Earlier on the day Indian batters had a tough outing as the top order wasn't able to score big. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was caught at the gully of Mitchell Starc and he didn't trouble the scores. Even Devdutt Padikkal wasn't able to get off the mark after being edging it to Carey off Hazlewood. Hazlewood got the big fish Virat Kohli on a short delivery and got him caught at the first slip. Mitchell Starc got the controversial dismissal of KL Rahul who looked being set. Rahul played the delivery and it went back to Carey as there was some noise Aussies appealed for it and then went upstairs. There was a spike seen in Snicko but it wasn't confirmed that was it off the bat or bat hitting pad. The decision was overturned and KL Rahul walked back in a frustrated way. Mitchell Marsh gave a double blow as he dismissed Dhruv Jurel and Washington Sundar. Rishabh Pant and Debutant Nitish Reddy added a 48-run partnership for the seventh wicket. After Rishabh Pant was dismissed Nitish Reddy ensured to stay till the end with tailenders taking the tally to 150. Hazlewood picked up the wickets of Skipper Jasprit Bumrah and Harshit Rana to complete his four-fer. Pat Cummins picked up the wicket of Nitish Reddy who scored 41(59) and was caught by Khawaja after being dropped just two balls before as he was put off by the sun in his eyes.
