The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has announced the commencement of the Bengal Pro T20 League, scheduled to begin on June 11. This pioneering franchise league, organized by CAB, marks a historic milestone as it will be the first state-based league in India to simultaneously host men’s and women’s T20 tournaments.

The trophy unveiling event, graced by Bengal cricket legends Sourav Ganguly and Jhulan Goswami, took place in Kolkata. The event also finalized the team names and captains for the upcoming league.

The inaugural edition of the Bengal Pro T20 League will feature eight teams competing in both men’s and women’s categories. These teams represent cities and districts across West Bengal, including Kolkata, Howrah, Diamond Harbour, Medinipur, Siliguri, Murshidabad, Rarh, and Malda.

Ownership of the franchises includes Lux Industries & Shyam Steel Consortium for Kolkata Royal Tigers, Adamas for Howrah Warriors, and Rashmi Group for the Medinipur franchise, among others.

Notable cricketers such as Anustup Majumdar, Shahbaz Ahmed, Manoj Tiwary, Mukesh Kumar, and Abhimanyu Easwaran will lead the men’s teams, while prominent Indian women players like Deepti Sharma, Dhara Gujjar, and Richa Ghosh will take charge of the women’s teams.
