While the Big Bash League 2024-25 had a busy schedule for Boxing Day, cricket fans experienced a great moment off the field during the match between Perth Scorchers and Brisbane Heat as the couple made the day unforgettable.

It was the 12th match of the BBL 2024-25, where the five-time BBL champions Perth Scorchers hosted the defending champions Brisbane Heat. During the match, the camera once went to the crowd to capture an all-time memorable moment.

A successful proposal on the Boxing Day

In the stadium, a guy proposed to his partner through a ring, which the partner accepted, and both had a passionate kiss to confirm a successful proposal. The day became only more enjoyable for the couple as Scorchers beat the defending champions by 33 runs.

Perth Scorchers claimed a comfortable win

After Brisbane Heat skipper Colin Munro chose to field first, Perth Scorchers scored 165/6 in 20 overs. Although the opener Finn Allen was out for a duck, Matty Hurst (28), Cooper Connolly (37), Aaron Hardie (24), and captain Ashton Turner (22) had some useful contributions before Nick Hobson played a firing knock of 47 not out off just 16 balls with the help of two fours and five sixes.

Among the Brisbane Heat bowlers, Spencer Johnson had a great day as he finished with the bowling figures of 4-1-20-4.

In reply, only the middle-order batters Matt Renshaw (36) and Max Bryant (35) reached the double-digit figures along with 15 extras, as Heat were all out for 132 runs in 19.4 overs. All the Perth Scorchers bowlers picked up wickets in that innings, where Jason Behrendorff (2/32), Matthew Kelly (2/33), and Andrew Tye (2/23) got two wickets and Lance Morris (1/23) and Ashton Agar (1/14) had one wicket each.

Earlier on the same day, Sydney Sixers beat Melbourne Stars by eight wickets after successfully chasing the 195-run target, thanks to James Vince’s unbeaten century (101 not out).
