IPL 2025 match 18 was played between CSK and DC where DC clinched a marvellous victory over the five-time champion team. CSK was nowhere near the game its their third defeat in 4 matches played by them. In reciprocal DC won all the matches laid and is leading the table, captain Axar Patel is a leader doing his job perfectly and the captaincy genre is really suiting him perfectly. 

Before the game, it was speculated that Ms Dhoni was going to lead the side due to a blow that Ruturaj got on his unprotected elbow in the last match against Rajasthan Royals (RR)on Sunday. Fans were really excited to see their Mahi turn out to be captain for one last time but it all turned out to be false news as Ruturaj Gaikwad came out for the toss for Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Chennai Super Kings lost against Delhi Capitals at home

CSK had their second home game against DC in Chepauk, it was considered a fort that hadn't breached that easily breached by RCB and ended their 17-year-long regaining losing streak against CSK in Chepauk. It was time for DC to break their 15-year losing streak against CSK in Chepauk. Delhi won the toss and elected to bat first, with KL Rahul 77 runs and other batters contributions scored 183 with the loss of 6 wickets.Later in the chase CSK batters just screwed off everything where they had a good chance to win the match. 

CSK started their chase with Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra but soon CSK were 2 down with their captain departing too early there were some technical from Delhi too where they missed Vijay Shankar's plum LBW delivered by Starc but it didn't cost much for DC. Though Shankar stayed at one end other wickets were tumbling in quick succession. Though Vijay Shankar completed a half-century no way it helped the team. At last, Dhoni took some shots but it was too late for him.

At the beginning of the match, there was a moment when one's family were spotted in Chepauk. His father Pan Singh and l his mother Devaki were there with Shakshi Dhoni and his daughter Ziva too made their presence, though Ziva and Shakshi Dhoni have been spotted regularly so it sheltered no curiosity but the the arrival of his parents sparked the retirement rumours of Ms Dhoni. 
Coach Stephen Fleming after the match stated that Ms Dhoni is going nowhere he is not retiring, he is going strong, I don't even ask him about his future these days because he knows the best time to leave off the ground and he will be there till the end of the season.
