The April 13 match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at Arun Jaitley Stadium was a high-octane affair, with DC winning the toss and opting to bowl. MI, after their team scored 205/5 in 20 overs, delivered a gripping 12-run triumph. With this win, MI have moved to seventh spot, while DC have slipped to second spot on the points table of IPL 2025.
Mumbai Indians started their innings with the bat and scored 80/1 after the powerplay ended because Rohit Sharma hit 49 runs from 28 balls, and Ryan Rickelton collected 32 runs from 20 balls. During the innings, Tilak Varma made 68 runs from 39 balls, including five fours and three sixes, while Suryakumar Yadav scored 28 off sixteen balls to sustain the team's momentum. MI secured 205/5 runs by having Hardik Pandya deliver an undefeated 22 from his 12 balls. A mishap by Ashutosh and Mukesh during the 17th over occurred while they chased a flying shot hit by Mohit Sharma, resulting in a dropped catch. Ashutosh left the field for medical checks, which harmed DC's fielding performance. Mitchell Starc took 2/40 for DC.

The opening partner of DC named Jake Fraser-McGurk (0) left the playing field after the initial over. Delhi Capitals achieved 135/3 when KL Rahul hit 45 off 30 deliveries and Karun Nair batted for 40 balls to score 89 runs with 9 fours and 4 sixes. After Jasprit Bumrah took three wickets for 28 runs the collapse began which resulted in a ten-run victory for Mumbai Indians as Delhi Capitals wrapped up at 193/10. DC's lower order players had great difficulty changing the strike during the final two overs because they scored only twelve runs during that period. A disciplined display from Bumrah and his coworkers in the death overs brought victory to MI as the bowling unit.
