Indian cricketer Washington Sundar, who has recently joined the Gujarat Titans, hit the headlines not for his on-field performance, but for publicly confronting a journalist at a press conference.
The incident occurred after the Gujarat Titans' last match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, which was Sundar's debut for his new franchise. In his interactions with the media, one of the journalists asserted that a commentator had mentioned that Sundar was not satisfied with his limited playing time in the last IPL season.

But Sundar promptly brushed aside the statement and questioned the validity of the claim. He asked the reporter sternly, "Did you hear me say that?" He continued to explain that he never made such a remark and had always been keen on being prepared for any opportunity that presented itself to him.
The 25-year-old all-rounder further added that he is thankful to be playing for Gujarat Titans and is eager to perform his best all season long.Sundar's honest and straightforward reply soon went viral on social media.
The fans admired him for standing up for himself and not providing ground to rumors going around. The incident not only reflected Sundar's maturity but also brought out the need for responsible journalism—journalists should crosscheck facts before reporting them, particularly when quoting a player.
