Ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024, which kicks off on June 2, the first group of Indian players, including captain Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja, have arrived in Mumbai. They are set to travel to the USA. Head coach Rahul Dravid and the support staff were also present as the team departed for the USA and the West Indies, aiming to secure their second T20 World Cup title. 

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are among the first group of Indian cricket players set to depart for the T20 World Cup 2024. Reports indicate that the players will board a flight from Mumbai to Dubai at 10 PM before continuing on to New York. Accompanying them on Saturday’s departure are Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav, and Kuldeep Yadav.

However, Virat Kohli has not flown with the first group to the USA for the T20 World Cup due to pending paperwork and is expected to depart by May 30th. It is also worth noting that Rinku Singh is the only player who is in the squad (Reserves) will be taking part in the final of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024

Second lot of Indian players to depart sooner 

Moreover, Avesh Khan, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Sanju Samson will join the second group of Indian cricket players traveling for the T20 World Cup. Their IPL 2024 campaign ended recently when RR fell to SRH by 36 runs in Qualifier 2 on Friday, May 24, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. India’s T20 World Cup vice-captain, Hardik Pandya, traveled to London after his MI team was eliminated from the playoffs. After spending a few days training in London, Hardik may connect with the national squad there.
