Priyansh Arya has now made waves all around the country with his super performance during IPL 2025. At only 24, he became left-handed sensation who went a blistering century from the likes of Chennai Super Kings within just 39 deliveries. This century is now the second-quickest Indian hundred in the history of IPL, second only to Yusuf Pathan, who achieved his century in 37 deliveries way back in 2010. Arya's assault contained 7 fours and 9 sixes, scoring a total of 103 off 42 deliveries.
What adds to the greatness of Arya's performance is that this is his first season with the Indian Premier League. Coming up against one of the strongest teams in IPL history, he was mature, confident, and big-hitting. Punjab Kings had to battle hard to acquire him at the IPL 2025 mega auction, beating Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Mumbai Indians, eventually signing him for ₹3.80 crore.
Former India cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu was so impressed that he compared Priyansh Arya to none other than the all-time great Sachin Tendulkar. While such comparisons are rare and have a lot of meaning, what Sidhu said is an indication of just how much Arya can do.
Followers and pundits now have their eyes on this talented youngster, who could become one of the faces of Indian cricket in the future.
Arya's blistering innings not only improved his personal record but helped Punjab Kings obtain a significant gain in the contest. His free-stroke aggression in pressure play was one aspect that contributed considerably to the solid team total faced against a potent bowling attack. With his speed to speed up the game and his cool handling of sticky situations, Arya is gaining prominence among the league's top guns. If this keeps up, he may even be on the radar for a national team call-up very soon. Until then, IPL viewers are enjoying each step of his ascent, and the world of cricket
