Gujarat Titans pulled off a brilliant run chase to beat Delhi Capitals by 7 wickets in the 35th match of IPL 2025. Delhi batted first and posted a big total of 203, but Jos Buttler had other plans. He hammered an unbeaten 97 off just 54 balls and made sure Gujarat crossed the line with ease.

Things didn’t start well for Delhi after losing Abhishek Porel early to Arshad Khan. Then came a fiery spell from Prasidh Krishna. He bowled a fast, full ball that tailed in late and trapped KL Rahul right in front.
Rahul missed the line trying to play it to the leg side, and the umpire had no doubt. After Karun Nair also fell, Delhi were suddenly struggling at 93/3.

Just when things looked shaky for Delhi, Tristan Stubbs and Ashutosh Sharma stepped up.
They played smart cricket and added important runs to help Delhi cross 200. It was a good fightback. While Siraj and Arshad gave away 47 and 46 runs each, Prasidh picked 4 big wickets despite going for 41 runs.

Jos Buttler Turns On Beast Mode and Tewatia Finishes it Off in Style

Gujarat’s chase got off to a rough start with captain Shubman Gill getting run out. Sai Sudharsan chipped in with a quick 36, but after that, it was the Jos Buttler show. He played some jaw-dropping shots and completely took the game away from Delhi. He smashed Mohit Sharma for 18 runs in the 13th over to bring up his fifty in just 32 balls. And when Starc came on to bowl, Buttler hit him for five boundaries in one over absolute carnage.

Even though the match went into the last over, Gujarat were in control. With 10 needed off 6 balls, Rahul Tewatia walked in and calmly hit a six and a four off Starc to finish the game.
Buttler was left stranded on 97 not out, but thanks to his knock, Gujarat had already done most of the job. It was a great all-round performance from GT solid bowling in the heat and a fantastic chase led by Buttler’s brilliance.
