Two former cricketers, now cricket pundits, Simon Doull and Harsha Bhogle, explain why Sai Sudharshan's play style looks different than other batters playing in the Indian Premier League. There was only one instance so far in the tournament where Sai Sudharsan did not manage to build a solid innings, which was against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. He got only 5 in this match. 82 against Rajasthan Royals, 59 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, 63 vs Mumbai Indians, and 74 in the Punjab Kings match. Overall, the GT opener has bagged 273 runs in 5 matches—the second highest run getter in IPL 2025, just behind Lucknow Super Giants's Nicholas Pooran, who has 288 runs with his name.

"If you think about Mitchell Marsh, I know where he gets all the runs, the power. If you think about Nicholas Pooran, he has 24 sixes; where does he get all the runs? But when you think about Sai Sudharsan, where does he generate all the runs?" Harsha Bhogle raised this question in an interaction session after the GT vs. RR match.

Bhogle made a statement by saying, "I can't define him in a way." Followed by a Simon Doull word, "True." Doull was impressed by the left-hander's choices of shot and skills to improvise a shot. After defeating Rajasthan Royals, GT is now at the top of the ladder and a clear favorite to win IPL 2025. If Sudharsan continues his form like his, it is possible that in the near future he can be graced with the purple cap.
