Hosts and defending champions Pakistan ended their journey in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 with Bangladesh after their Group A meeting was washed out in rain.

Before this match, which was scheduled at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Thursday (February 27), Pakistan and Bangladesh were already eliminated from the tournament, as both teams lost their first two matches of the Group A against India and New Zealand. The Thursday fixture was only a formality, but persistent rain resulted in another washout game in the ongoing ICC tournament. It was the second match in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, where the match was abandoned without a toss.

Last Tuesday (February 25), Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium had the Group B fixture of Australia vs South Africa. However, the persistent rain denied any action of the match as both teams shared one point each. On the previous day (February 24), the same venue hosted Bangladesh vs New Zealand Group A match, which had no rain interruption and New Zealand won by five wickets after successfully chasing a 237-run target.

Group A of the tournament will end with the India vs New Zealand match on Sunday (March 2, 2025), which will be played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. While both teams have already confirmed their qualification for the Semi-finals of the tournament, their meeting will decide who will face which Group B qualified team in the Semi-finals.
