ICC reveals 2023-2025 WTC final venue and dates

On Tuesday (September 3), the International Cricket Council (ICC) officially announced the 2023-2025 ICC World Test Championship final venue and dates. 

England will host another ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final. Lord’s in London will host the 2023-2025 ICC World Test Championship final from June 11 to 15, 2025. The ICC also confirmed that June 16, 2025, has been set as a reserve day for the match if required.

ICC CEO Geoff Allardice believes that the tickets will be in high demand for the next ICC World Test Championship final.

Allardice officially stated, “The ICC World Test Championship Final has quickly become one of the most anticipated events in the cricketing calendar and we are pleased to announce the dates for the 2025 edition.

"It's a testament to the enduring appeal of Test cricket, which continues to captivate fans around the world. Tickets will be in high demand so I would encourage fans to register their interest now to ensure they are in with a chance of attending the Ultimate Test next year."

England already hosted two ICC WTC finals

England already hosted the first two ICC World Test Championship finals and is ready to host the third ICC World Test Championship final. 

Rose Bowl in Southampton hosted the inaugural ICC World Test Championship (2019-2021) final between India and New Zealand in 2021. New Zealand won that final by eight wickets and created history to become the first champions of the ICC World Test Championship. 

London’s The Oval hosted the second ICC World Test Championship (2021-2023) final in 2023. India and Australia faced each other in that final, where Australia won the final by 209 runs. 

2023-2025 ICC World Test Championship points table: India are on top

There are a lot of matches yet to be played in the third edition of the ICC World Test Championship (2023-2025). At present, India are on top in the 2023-2025 ICC World Test Championship points table with 74 points after six Tests (68.52 percentage points). The defending champions Australia are in second place with 90 points after eight Tests (62.50% points).

The inaugural WTC Mace winners New Zealand are in third place in the 2023-2025 ICC World Test Championship points table with 36 points after three Tests (50.00% points).

Bangladesh (45.83%), England (45.00%), South Africa (38.89%), Sri Lanka (33.33%), Pakistan (19.05%), and West Indies (18.52%) are battling from fourth to ninth places, respectively, in the ongoing ICC World Test Championship points table.
