With their brilliance in the recently concluded India-Sri Lanka test series, Jasprit Bumrah and Dimuth Karunaratne have made significant gains in the MRF Tyres ICC Test Rankings. In the meantime, Virat Kohli dropped from fifth to ninth among batters.

In the MRF Tyres ICC Test Rankings for bowlers, Jasprit Bumrah advanced six spots to reach fourth place after taking eight wickets, including his first five-for in a Test at home. Shaheen Afridi, Kyle Jamieson, Tim Southee, Neil Wagner, and Josh Hazlewood all fell to Indian pacer Hardik Pandya. Lasith Embuldeniya and Praveen Jayawickrama also rose five places each to 32nd and 45th places, respectively. Mohamed Shami displaces fellow countryman Ravindra Jadeja to the 17th spot. Kagiso Rabada has retained his top spot, followed by Pat Cummins and Ravichandran Ashwin. Nkrumah Bonner and Shreyas Iyer jumped 22 and 40 places to reach 22nd and 37th positions, respectively. The match-winning 92 and 67 Iyer scored against Sri Lanka in Antigua last week earned him a reward for his match-winning 123 and unbeaten 38 last week against England.

Jason Holder reclaimed the number one spot in the all-rounders’ table, replacing Ravindra Jadeja, who had risen to the top after taking 175* and nine wickets in the Mohali Test earlier this month. The top five are rounded out by Vivian Ashwin, Shakib Al Hasan, and Ben Stokes.
