Fit again Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel were named in India’s 15-man squad for the T20 World Cup. However, veteran pacer Mohammad Shami has been named among four reserved players for the multi-nation tournament. Bumrah, who was experiencing back injury and Harshal, who had a side strain, had done an intense rehabilitation program at the NCA and the BCCI medical team had considered them fit for the series. India will play their first match against Pakistan on October 23.

True to form Rohit Sharma was named the captain for the mega T20 occasion, while his opening partner KL Rahul will go about as the appointee in the squad. Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav are other superstar batters in the team. Mohammad Shami will head out to Australia as a stand by player.

It is being reported that the selection council will meet in Mumbai to choose the 15-member squad for the impending T20 World Cup 2022 to be held in Australia, alongside the team for the home series against Australia and South Africa beginning September 20.

Additionally on the plan will be the survey of India’s Asia Cup 2022 performance. India were taken out of the Super 4 stage after defeat to Pakistan and eventual winners, Sri Lanka. India’s team were scrutinised for their trial and error in playing XI all through the tournament.

Ravindra Jadeja, who sustained a knee injury during the Asia Cup 2022 has gone through a surgery and is probably not going to be in condition for the T20 World Cup team.

Based on performances in the Asia Cup, it looks sure that Avesh Khan will miss out and India will have the tough choice with regards to picking either one from the swing bowling duo of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Deepak Chahar. Despite Kumar’s standout spell of 5/4 against Afghanistan on Thursday, the UP bowler battled in the death overs, releasing 19 and 14 runs in the Pakistan and Sri Lanka games, respectively.

This brings to the wicketkeepers/finishers in the squad and it will be a genuine shot in the dark here despite the fact that both Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh Pant are probably going to feature  in the squad. While Karthik wound up bowling a greater number of deliveries than he looked in the whole Asia Cup, to be reasonable for him, he didn’t get a predictable disagreement in the Asia Cup. Then again, Pant was dropped for the first Pakistan game, and after that had unconvincing scores of 14, 17 and 20*. His being a left-hander who can likewise bat at the top of the order will help him out, yet there is an exceptionally clear slight possibility for India to give Sanju Samson a pass to Australia. Will it be at the expense of either one from Pant or Karthik or he travels as the backup keeper, and that will be a fascinating thing to watch out for.
