Large groups of crowds formed a beeline shape and gathered outside the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack ahead of the offline ticket sales for the upcoming second ODI match between India and England on February 9. Several people including women and children from all walks of life assembled outside near the ticket counters last night hoping for a massive influx of offline tickets.

The online tickets were long exhausted given the huge popularity of this fixture. However, the counter sales will soon be set up starting on Wednesday morning to cater to the general public who missed out on availing the tickets online.

Cuttack Police assures smooth distribution of offline tickets

Despite massive crowd buildup, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Amarandra Panda assures the public that adequate security arrangements will be made to facilitate smooth distribution.  The Commissionerate Police will dispatch a team of 17 platoons overseeing security as ticket counters open at 9 am.

“I am very much excited for the high-voltage match. I have been waiting in the queue since 9 pm. I will patiently wait for my turn till 9 am tomorrow to buy the ticket.”

Panda has also requested the public to come in the queue and collect the tickets in a tidy manner. As per police sources, two counter lines will be set up for men and women each.

Provision for parking made available

The law enforcement authorities have gone a step further to ensure extensive parking arrangements for the fans traveling to the stadium. Across five major sites, the parking capacity has been exacerbated to accommodate over 25,000 vehicles. The primary zones for parking are in the upper and lower Bali Yatra grounds whereas there are also three other places where vehicles can be parked.
