The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to announce the Indian squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 on January 19, as confirmed by BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla. This announcement comes as cricket fans eagerly await updates on the team that will represent India in the prestigious tournament.
The ICC Champions Trophy is scheduled to begin on February 19, 2025. India has been placed in Group A, along with Pakistan, Bangladesh, and New Zealand. The group stage matches for India will take place in Dubai, starting with the opening game against Bangladesh on February 20. India will face Pakistan in a high-stakes match on February 23, followed by their final group-stage encounter with New Zealand on March 2.
The decision to announce the squad in mid-January allows selectors to evaluate player performances during the ongoing domestic and international matches. India is currently preparing for the Champions Trophy with a white-ball series against England, which includes five T20Is beginning on January 22 and three ODIs starting February 6. The performances in these matches will play a significant role in finalizing the squad.
