India Women’s team won the second ODI of the three-match series against Sri Lanka at Pallekele on July 4, 2022, and went 2-0 up in the series. Indian team has proactively won the T20I series 2-1.
India didn’t have an issue chasing 174 as they won the second ODI by ten wickets against Sri Lanka on Monday. Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma played thumps of 94 and 71 respectively.
Earlier Renuka Singh got back with four wickets as India bundled out Sri Lanka for 173 in the ongoing second ODI of the three-match series. Deepti Sharma and Meghna Singh additionally took two wickets for India. Ama Kanchana top-scored for the hosts with a thump of 47 runs.
Earlier, Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and chose to bowl against Sri Lanka in the second ODI of the three-match series on Monday. India have not rolled out any improvement to their playing XI. India would hope to take an unassailable lead in the continuous series as the side had won the first ODI by four wickets. The pitch is supposed to help the spinners once more so Sri Lanka would hope to set up a major all out on the board.

Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma broke the record for the highest partnership for any wicket by an India pair as they featured in a 10-wicket whipping of Sri Lanka today. Mandhana made a shimmering 94 not out while Shafali made run-a-ball 71* as the tourists ran to the target of 174 in 25.4 overs. With this success, India have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.
Sri Lanka failed to build partnership and two or three run outs in the middle overs further halted their progress. Ama Kanchana completed as their top-scorer with 47 not out.
The duo shared an unbeaten 174 runs opening stand with Verma making 71 of every 71 balls with 4 fours and 1 six and Mandhana got stranded on 94 runs in 83 balls with 11 fours and 1 six. She was denied a century as a wide was bowled as she attempted to venture out and go for a six to arrive at the milestone, with India requiring 3 hurries to win.
Eventually, the Indian women dominated the game by 10 wickets and 25.4 overs in a pounding win.
The third and final ODI will be played on July 7, however India has proactively stashed the series with this win and taking a 2-0 lead.
