Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), a two-time IPL champion, significantly bolstered their squad by acquiring 10 new players in the IPL 2024 auction. The team has notably strengthened its bowling attack with the inclusion of Mitchell Starc and Gus Atkinson, providing a much-needed infusion of raw pace.
Manish Pandey, a member of the IPL 2014 title-winning squad, returns to the KKR fold, relying on his domestic and IPL experience to contribute to the team’s middle order. The squad also features strategic backups for key players, with KS Bharat as a direct replacement for Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Sherfane Rutherford serving as Andre Russell’s backup.
As KKR gears up for the IPL 2024 season, Shreyas Iyer takes on the role of captain, with Nitish Rana as his deputy. The return of Gautam Gambhir as the team’s mentor adds further experience to the leadership.
