Punjab Kings (PBKS) experienced a significant batting collapse during their match against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. It all started with a promising start in the first over, but things quickly took a turn for the worse as PBKS lost wickets at regular intervals.
The trouble started early for PBKS as they lost their first wicket with just 12 runs on the board in the first over. Things went from bad to worse. Jasprit Bumrah, the talismanic bowler from MI, proved to be the chief architect of PBKS’s downfall, claiming crucial wickets with his skillful bowling. PBKS lost key batsmen like Curran and Rossouw early in the innings, struggling to build any momentum.
Despite a brief resistance from some of their middle-order batsmen, PBKS continued to lose wickets steadily, finding themselves in a precarious position at 111/7 by the 13th over. Bumrah’s return to the attack further compounded PBKS’s woes, as he struck once again to dismiss Shashank with a well-directed slower delivery.

Although PBKS managed to score a few runs off Bumrah’s bowling, including a defiant six from Ashutosh, their overall batting performance was marred by the collapse. In the end, PBKS faced a challenging situation, with the collapse highlighting their struggles against MI’s formidable bowling attack, led by Bumrah.
However, PBKS makes an amazing comeback with Ashutosh Sharma. As he has made 59 runs in 25 balls and hope to bring more as he is not out yet. Punjab is now in 165 runs for 7 wickets. Fans get a light of hope.
