Opting to bat first, RCB posted a competitive total of 173/6, courtesy of a late flourish from Anuj Rawat and Dinesh Karthik, who stitched together a vital partnership of 95 runs. Rawat’s explosive innings of 48 runs off 25 balls and Karthik’s unbeaten 38* off 26 balls provided the much-needed momentum to RCB’s innings.
CSK’s left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman delivered a match-winning spell, wreaking havoc on RCB’s batting lineup with his four-wicket haul. Mustafizur’s clinical performance saw him dismiss key RCB batters, including Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, Rajat Patidar, and Cameron Green, restricting RCB from posting a formidable total.
In response, CSK began their chase positively, with Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rachin Ravindra providing a solid start. Despite losing Gaikwad early to RCB’s Yash Dayal, Ravindra was impressed with his IPL debut, smashing 37 runs off just 15 balls. Contributions from Ajinkya Rahane and unbeaten knocks from Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja ensured CSK’s comfortable victory.
