Australian speedster Pat Cummins has said that he wants his Indian Premier League side Sunrisers Hyderabad to start with an aggressive approach this season as he takes over as the captain for the IPL 2024 season as well.

SRH spent a massive money to acquire Pat Cummins who was given the captaincy role, replacing Aiden Markram after they had a season to forget in 2023 as well. Meanwhile, the Australian ODI captain had his first session with his new team on March 20 as well. And, he said that he looked good in orange after an intense session as well.

“Orange looks great” – Pat Cummins

“Well, I picked the singlet, which is not normally me, but it was the only shirt I found. The rest are packed away. So yeah, maybe next time I’ll be wearing sleeves, but orange looks great. Uniforms. Awesome,” said Pat Cummins.

However, Cummins said that he is looking forward to working closely with some of the guys he doesn’t know that well in the teams and also getting to know what they would want from their captain during the cash-rich league as well. He also said that he wants his side to have the best possible start and felt they have a balanced side with youth and experience in the mix.

“I mean, the plans are you know, I work really closely with the guys that I don’t know too well. Get to know them. Get to know what they need from me out in the middle. And then, you know, work with coaches and what they want to see out of me as well as a player. So, a bit of planning to go and then just wanna get off to a really good start. T20s are hard. Kolkata’s a good team, but I think just wanna see a really aggressive, start to the season,” he said.

“I think we’ve got a great mix. We’ve got a couple more experienced guys like Bhuvi. Obviously Aiden Markram captain last year. But we’ve got some exciting young talent. I’m super excited to see guys like Abhishek, Umran Malik, these kind of guys I’ve only seen a little bit of but super excited, so I think fans should be pretty pumped for the season ahead,” concluded Pat Cummins.

SRH will take on KKR in their opening match at the Eden Gardens on March 23.
