On May 22, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) faced off against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL 2024 Eliminator at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The star India batter Virat becomes the first player to complete the milestone of 8000 runs in the history of the IPL. Virat achieved this historic feat in the game against RR where he scored a well compiled 33 runs off just 24 balls including three boundaries and one maximum to his game. Throughout the innings he looked in supreme touch but unfortunately could not deliver a match winning score.Β
Avesh Khan delivered a full, straight ball that nipped in and struck Karthikβs pad. UltraEdge showed a significant spike, making it challenging to determine if the ball had hit the bat before the pad or if it was the inside edge. The ball’s close proximity to the inside edge and its deviation suggested bat involvement. Rajasthan Royals mentor Kumar Sangakkara was convinced it was out. He immediately rose from the dugout and approached the fourth umpire after the decision was turned down.Β
Cameron Green started the over with a back-of-the-length delivery, which Riyan Parag pulled in front of the square. However, Virat Kohli swiftly retrieved the ball and executed an impressive run-out from the deep. The throw, covering 19 meters from a point 52 meters away, found Dhruv Jurel short of his crease.
