The schedule for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will be revealed today, February 22, but it will likely cover only the first 15 days of the tournament. The full schedule will be finalized later by the BCCI once the dates for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections are confirmed by the Election Commission. You can catch the announcement live on the Jio Cinema app and website.

CSK Will Kick Off The Tournament

The defending champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), will kick off the tournament on March 22, possibly facing Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the opening match, as per reports. CSK clinched the title in IPL 2023 after defeating Gujarat Titans in a thrilling final.

The news agency quoted a BCCI source as saying, “IPL 2024 will kick off on in Chennai on March 22 and the tentative schedule of the first 15 days of the tournament will be revealed on Thursday. Chennai Super Kings will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore on March 22 at M. A Chidambaram.”

IPL 2024 Will Be Held Entirely In India

Despite the Lok Sabha elections, IPL 2024 will be held entirely in India, as confirmed by the BCCI. Approval from the Union Home Ministry and the Election Commission is still pending.

IPL President Arun Dhumal added, “BCCI is planning to start IPL 2024 from March 22. IPL 2024 schedule will be announced in two halves. The schedule for the first half will be announced and then the schedule for the other half will be announced after the announcement of general election dates.”

This IPL season is especially significant as it precedes the T20 World Cup scheduled in the West Indies and the United States from June 1 to 29.
