Chennai Super Kings as a franchise never hit the panic button and there is nothing much to worry about even though the five-time champions' run in the ongoing season IPL has been average, its CEO Kasi Viswanathan said to PTI on Wednesday. CSK have lost a record five games consecutively this season and well over half-way through the tournament, languish at the bottom of the points table having lost six of their eight matches.
They have been short on firepower in batting and captain Ruturaj Gaikwad's injury absence has made it even worse for the illustrious team. CSK CEO has also expressed his views regarding his team's performance in IPL 2025. "We have not been playing up to the mark. We are trying to better and we will try to do well in the next few games. We have never pressed the panic button in our franchise is not like that, it is just a game," Viswanathan said to PTI.
MS Dhoni returns to lead side in Gaikwad's absence but as the head coach Stephen Fleming said 'he doesn't have a magic wand' and cannot improve the team's fortunes overnight.

After the loss against Mumbai Indians, CSK are in a must-win position for their next six matches with Dhoni already making plans for 2026. Can Dhoni pen a turnaround after replacing Gaikwad halfway through the tournament? "See, it's not the question of anybody. It's a question that the team should do well and not just one individual. We don't talk to the team management. Dhoni will do what is right for the team".
"What we are looking for as administrators is satisfactory performance by the team and we do not criticize our team at all," he further added.
