Virat Kohli record at Chinnaswamy

In match 42 of IPL 2025 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday, April 24, the Rajasthan Royals won the toss and elected to bowl first against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The contest was destined to be high-scoring, and it was Virat Kohli who brought his own magic to the venue. Kohli was home and looked every bit in control from the word go as he guided the Royal Challengers Bengaluru innings with his trademark strokeplay and composure, to the joyous sound of the packed stadium.

In the match, Kohli achieved an extraordinary milestone in only his 105th T20 innings by becoming the first-ever player to score more than 3,500 runs at a single venue. Kohli reached the landmark at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, where he has created countless memories whilst playing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. His familiarity with the conditions was demonstrated as he put in another match-winning performance and continued the run with a big score.

By this accomplishment, Kohli is now in an exclusive group of only six players to register over 3,000 runs at just one ground in T20s. The remaining members of this illustrious club account include Mushfiqur Rahim, James Vince, Alex Hales, Tamim Iqbal, and Mahmudullah. Kohli's success and resilience at Chinnaswamy now prove what he left behind in T20 cricket. Kohli has been the foundation of the RCB franchise since the inception of the IPL, and his performance served as a timely reminder of his supremacy and unparalleled relationship with the Bengaluru support.

Kohli Breaks Record as RCB Post 205 Against RR in Bengaluru

Virat Kohli played another great knock, scoring 70 runs from just 42 balls. His innings scored with eight fours and two sixes. He played carefully for a century but got out in the 16th over, trying to play a lofted shot against Jofra Archer. Nitish Rana took a simple catch at cover. This was the first time Archer managed to dismiss Kohli in T20 cricket.

Thanks to Kohli’s effort and a half-century from Devdutt Padikkal, RCB finished with a strong total of 205/5 in their 20 overs. Rajasthan also gave away 16 extras, which didn’t help their cause.

After that, Royal Challengers Bangalore won a close match against Rajasthan Royals by 11 runs at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Josh Hazlewood was the star for Bangalore, taking 4 important wickets and helping his team get their sixth win of the season.
