Kolkata Knight Riders' home match against Lucknow Super Giants on April 6 will now be played in Guwahati, as the police said they can't provide security due to 'Ram Navami' celebrations in Kolkata on the same day. Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president Snehasish Ganguly confirmed this to PTI on Thursday.
BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari had earlier said that over 20,000 processions would take place across West Bengal for the festival. "We informed the BCCI about the rescheduling, but there is no way to hold the match in Kolkata later. Now, I hear it will be moved to Guwahati," Ganguly said.

The exciting match between KKR and LSG, owned by RPSG Group chairman Sanjiv Goenka, was expected to have a full house, as both teams have strong local support.Since security issues made it difficult to hold the match in Kolkata, moving it to Guwahati was the only option. While Kolkata fans will be disappointed, cricket lovers in Guwahati now have the chance to enjoy an exciting game between KKR and LSG.
