KL Rahul claimed a rare achievement at the Ekana Cricket Stadium during the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) vs. Delhi Capitals (DC) clash on April 22. LSG started the match with fluid motion but lost their momentum when Mukesh Kumar struck 4 scalps. LSG was restricted to only 159 in 20 overs; DC chased down the total with 8 wickets in hand and 13 balls to spare.

During the toss, both skippers— Rishabh Pant from LSG and Axar Patel from DC—shared the same thoughts about the surface. Both the captains wanted to chase in the second innings. Patel, with the better luck, won the toss and elected to field first.

As predicted, the pitch of Ekana Cricket Stadium was getting more batting-friendly as the second innings approached. Abishek Porel, as an opener, did his job in the top batting order of Delhi Capitals with 51 runs. His opening partner, Karun Nair, with only 15, departed early, but that did not help LSG bowlers enough to shift the flow of the match. KL Rahul and Axer Patel safely drive their team to the right destination.

Cricket fans were curious to see how Rahul performed against his former franchise. Tonight, he was unstoppable against Rishabh Pant's Lucknow Super Giants. Sanjiv Goenka was present in the gallery to witness his team falling apart in front of an in-form Lokesh Rahul.

A rare achievement in the history of IPL

Rahul, with his 42-ball 57* run innings, achieved an epic record at the Ekana Stadium. The star batter becomes the fastest batter to complete 5000 runs in Indian Premier League history.
