Kolkata is ready to gear up for their third match against Mumbai Indians, both teams are downhill, but Kolkata aisin a much better position where they have lost one and won one. But there are certain issues which they have to address. Kolkata has to let go of their captain Shreyas Iyer who was their triumph card last year. Due to credential issues, he left the team and was bought by Punjab Kings for 26 crores which was the second-highest bid in this year's auction.
Mumbai also has started poorly in this tournament where they have lost 2 matches on the trot but the next match is in their home ground Mi will be in a a different mode. Their experienced batter and current Indian Team captain Rohit Sharma has not fired up yet, in these two matches he hasn't scored much and there are issues with the captain too where he isn't able to contribute on a large scale. There are many problems to address but being at the beginning stage of the tournament they have to find the right rhythm.

Kolkata Can Be A Customer
Kolkata being the champion of last year started their campaign against RCB which was the season opener where RCB won the toss and chose to field first and KKR scored 174 with the loss of 8 wickets, Rahane played a superb knock as captain but the rest of the other batters failed to build up the score. But RCB has entered this tournament with a different mindset. Where their batters made good use of the pitch and chased the target with 7 wickets remaining in hand.
In the second match against Rajasthan, Kolkata didn't make the same mistake which they did against RCB, chose to bowl first and bundled Rajasthan into 153 runs, later on with the bat won the match with 8 wickets remaining in hand and with the help of Quintin De Cock 97 runs it looked too easy for them. With this KKR will be high on confidence and their track record in Mumbai is also good. They can be a handy customer to the five-time champions. Both teams need to win the game which can give them the stability to the upcoming games ahead.
