Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) latest recruit, Digvesh Rathi, brought some excitement to the IPL 2025 clash against Punjab Kings with a fiery send-off for young Priyansh Arya. Making his debut in the tournament, the mystery spinner dismissed the Punjab opener. It marked the moment with the iconic notebook celebration at the Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Stadium in Lucknow.
Introduced into the attack as early as the third over, the 25-year-old spinner secured Lucknow's first breakthrough. Facing his Delhi state teammate, Priyansh Arya, Digvesh was initially struck for a boundary on the first delivery of his over. However, when Priyansh attempted another aggressive shot, Digvesh outsmarted him with a quicker delivery. The mistimed stroke resulted in a top edge, which was comfortably taken by Shardul Thakur at mid-off.
The young leg spinner was ecstatic after taking the crucial wicket, raced up to Priyansh, and performed the notebook celebration, which is a symbolic act in which a bowler writes a batter's name in his "book of wickets." However, Priyansh remained silent, as if he could sense his Delhi teammate's feelings. An on-field umpire swiftly stepped in, running to Digvesh and instructing him not to interact with opposing hitters despite the playful moment.

'Notebook celebration' was a characteristic action of West Indies fast bowler, Kesrick Williams. One of the most famous celebrations in contemporary cricket, Williams frequently utilized this gesture to mock opposing batters.
But during the 2019 India-West Indies series, Virat Kohli handed Williams a taste of his own medicine. The legendary India batter imitated the notebook celebration after smashing a boundary off Williams.
