MS Dhoni, the legendary former captain of Chennai Super Kings(CSK), has once again reminded everyone of his enduring loyalty to the franchise. A post has been making rounds on social media where he is quoted to have stated, "I can play for CSK as long I want - that's my franchise. If I am on a wheelchair, they will drag me." This statement has taken the cricket aficionados by storm and has generated an outpour of love and emotions among the followers of Dhoni and CSK letting people know that he still has deep allegiance to the team and its supporters.
Dhoni's Legacy with CSK Dhoni has long been associated with CSK since the first season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008. Under Dhoni's captaincy, the franchise has won several IPL titles and registered itself as one of the most successful teams in IPL history. No matter when he left the captaincy role, his presence has a pretty significant impact on the team.
Fans are excited for his return in IPL 2025, and he is another chance to wear the yellow vest. Even though he announced his retirement from international cricket in 2020, he has continued to play for CSK and shows a love for the game which hasn't changed.

The above quote shows that Dhoni is willing to stay with the franchise until he decides otherwise, probably implying that retirement is still a long way off. He is also still young and fit, so if possible it would not be surprising if he extended his IPL career longer than anyone would espect.
However, each passing season speculation rises again to when is his retirement? His fans who have remained loyal would very much also like to see him play into the sunset in whatever form that took another role whether a mentor or coach or contributory behind-the-scenes role.
In addition to the buzz, CSK will take on their biggest rivals, Mumbai Indians (MI), on March 23, 2025, at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. This is one of the most enticing encounters, often referred to as the "El Clasico" of the IPL, and CSK coach Ruturaj Gaikwad will have to face MI's coach Suryakumar Yadav.
