Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings (MI vs CSK) has been scheduled for the 38th match of the IPL 2025, which Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai will host it on Sunday evening (April 20). It will be their second meeting this season. They started their season by meeting each other in Chennai on March 23, where CSK won by four wickets with five balls remaining after successfully chasing the 156-run target in 19.1 overs after losing six wickets. 

Both teams will play their eighth match of the season. Mumbai Indians have earned six points after seven games, with three wins and four losses, including winning the last two. On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings are in the last place in the IPL 2025 points table with four points in seven matches, with two victories and five defeats, while they recorded a win in their last game after suffering five consecutive losses.

IPL 2025, Match 38: MI vs CSK - Playing XIs Status

Mumbai Indians are unlikely to make any special change, as they will surely not want to break their latest winning combination, especially at home.  

Ravichandran Ashwin may make his comeback in the CSK squad, while the 38-year-old off-spinner has five wickets in six matches this season. Sam Curran or Jamie Overton can also be considered in the playing XI.
