The Punjab Kings vs Chennai Super Kings (PBKS vs CSK) match will be played during the 22nd game of the IPL 2025. Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium (Mullanpur) will host it on Tuesday evening (April 8).

Punjab Kings recorded two wins and one defeat in their first three matches of the IPL 2025. After beating Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants by 11 runs and eight wickets, respectively, PBKS suffered a 50-run defeat against Rajasthan Royals. 

Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings started the season with a four-wicket win against Mumbai Indians. But the five-time IPL champions then suffered defeats against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Rajasthan Royals, and Delhi Capitals by 50 runs, six runs, and 25 runs, respectively.

In their early IPL 2025, Punjab Kings’ top-order and middle-order batters have proved themselves well. Meanwhile, the bowling unit needs to make improvements, which will be tested continuously in their next matches. The franchise should utilise their strong all-round options more effectively, which can be a smarter choice for the IPL 2014 runners-up.  

CSK's batting has hugely disappointed. The top-order batters have to play powerful roles as their lack of support has hampered their innings. Former captain MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ravinchandran Ashwin’s places are doubtful, but the top-order batting is the major practical concern for the five-time IPL champions.
